I wanted to clarify some questions that came up regarding the tariffs for USA backers. 

✨If you live outside of the USA, or if your order does NOT include pins or anything other than books or postcards, I will charge your cards on Friday. ✨(There are 27 of you) If your card is charged, it means you don't need to worry about tariffs as your order is exempt, or you live somewhere other than the USA.

I will ship and fulfill orders without tariffs first. 

This also gives me time to see what is happening with the lawsuit about the illegal tariffs in mid-October. (So I can give up-to-date information) 

I will add the tariffs to the pledge manager, and ask Backerkit to re-open your locked pledges. You will have the option of removing add-on items that has a tariff attached, switch your collaboration reward to a postcard instead of a pin, and see how much tariffs will be on your pledge before I charge you. 

This will happen closer to the end of October, and I will make an update once these open. You will also get an email to complete your survey again.

It is my sincere hope that the court deems the removal of the de minimus illegal, and that by then, this will all have been a nightmare we can laugh hysterically about instead.

Greetings Star Seekers,

Today's update brings mixed news. 

TL:DR Books arrived, I am signing it, and will charge cards soon. 

I will start with the good news; the books have finally all arrived! And from what I can tell there was only a couple which needs to be replaced (Don't worry, I ordered lots extra this time). This happens to be exactly one year since the campaign ended, so it is a really good feeling to finally have some closure for this adventure! 

Now begins the task of signing and boxing 113 books. 

As you can imagine, this might take a while since I am also checking to make sure everything looks good as I do a quality check. I am also numbering them as I sign them, with the book boxes getting #4-10.

I am buried in something I only ever dreamed possible! 113 of my own books ❤️and boxes. My little Dragon's lair is swamped and have shrunk to half its size. But I am not complaining, this is a good problem to have ^_^

I will now charge cards and begin fulfillment. USA backers, please read the backer section below for IMPORTANT information regarding your pledge.

Once cards are charged, all eBooks should be sent your way. All digital tiers and pin only tiers have long been fulfilled as well. Soon, you will all get to read these books ^_^

It has been a long journey, and I am grateful for each and every one of you. From my returning backers to new backers, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! 

I have learned a lot this campaign, mainly not to rely on others when there is a time limit and to make sure books are fully edited BEFORE launch. (Even a year isn't enough time apparently, no matter how things went with other books.)

But in the end every set back merely made the book even better, with more art!

I have had to pivot and grow and try things I never imagined I would need to. The world has shifted and changed so quickly in the past year alone, and like many, I have had to navigate strange new waters. And while the shoreline is finally in sight, there are still turbilant waters for some (namely the sudden taxation to make port from pirates--details below). Will these books find safe harbour? I hope so. Because they are beautiful and I am so proud of them!

Exciting News! The new proof just arrived for Star Awakened, and I am very happy with it! I just put through the bulk order for all the books ^_^ Production time will be about six weeks, plus shipping. So, I expect to have the books in hand late October. At which point I will sign and package everything, and as long as there aren't any unforeseen issues like missing dust jackets, I hope to begin shipping in November. However, if shipping rates go up too much for the peak season, I will check with you and possibly wait until January to ship everything. 

I am really happy with how it turned out! I can't believe it's actually almost here for you guys! Well sort of. But at last it's good news.

Greetings Star Seekers,

Today's update is mostly good news. I have received the book boxes, and they look amazing! And the best part is they fit both books in them ^_^
 

I also received my printed proofs. Unfortunately, the wrong dust jacket came with Star Awakened >.< So I have to order a new set because the last thing I want is 50 copies with the wrong dust jackets! But the gold foil, ribbon, and interior are as gorgeous as I imagined they would be!

Here are some pictures for you to drool over while I await my new order of proofs. (Sadly, another month of waiting because of production.) But it will be worth it, I promise!

Today I get to share five exciting things with you.
 

Star Awakened has been proofread, and I ordered the first printed proofs! Production will take about a month before it ships to me, but after that I can place a bulk order for the books ^_^

I also finished formatting the eBooks! All digital tiers should have received an email with a link. Unfortunately, the digital delivery will only trigger once shipping has been paid (I made a mistake when I set up the digital delivery. I am trying to see if there is a way to change it, but only just got back from a 3 week camping/sailing trip, so it might take some time)

I received the full order for Star Found. There were a few damaged in shipping, but they are replacing them, and they should be here in time to avoid any delays since I haven't ordered all the Star Awakened ones yet. But they look so pretty! I will start signing them over the next two weeks ^_^ I never imagined a stack of my own books like this! It is such an amazing feeling!
 

And last but certainly not least, here is the final bonus illustration I added to Star Awakened because of the delay as a way to say thank you for your patience as I navigate the rough seas! I think this is one of my favourite illustrations so far, so I am very happy I had the time to add it to the book.


This art will also be in the Deluxe edition eBook in full colour (depending on your eReader)

I am so happy with how this book has turned out. And while it has taken longer than I originally planned, I think all the delays simply meant that the book got even more beautiful with 3 bonus illustrations added that wouldn't have been a part of it otherwise. 

More exciting news. With tarriff shock settling, the company I originally planned to use to make my boxes are once more shipping to Canada!!! ✨✨✨😍✨✨✨ I ordered all 48 book boxes and whould be receiving them soon! This makes me super happy because I haven't found an alternative in the meantime. 

✨Digital fulfillment will continue to be delivered
✨Once I receive the physical books I will both read through it for errors and make sure everything looks perfect before ordering the final large batch of books
✨Production will take about 6 weeks after I order the books
✨Once I receive the books I will charge shipping and lock addresses. I will also sign all the books during this time. Since there are so many to do, this part will take me 2-3 weeks depending on my other committments when I finally get the books in hand
✨Books will ship and you will get happy mail ^_^ (With a rough estimate around November/December)
